GoDaddy renewal price: what you pay after the intro term

Observed on GoDaddy's pricing page, in the Internet Archive's capture of it (the live page refuses automated checks, so the archive's copy is what I read). The price has not moved since 2026-08-26. Checked again on 2026-10-16: the page blocked my check; the stored prices were confirmed in the Internet Archive's newest capture of it.

“Web Hosting Economy Save 50% $11.99 $5.99 /mo For first 3-yr term”

Source: https://web.archive.org/web/20260826150032/https://www.godaddy.com/hosting/web-hosting · observed 2026-08-26 · confidence high · Read from the Internet Archive's captures of 2026-08-25 18:05 and 2026-08-26 15:00 UTC, which agree. The card prints the regular price ($11.99) struck through beside the intro price and 'For first 3-yr term'; the regular price is what the plan renews at (a January 2026 third-party report, allaboutcookies.org, gave the same $11.99 renewal). 'Free domain*' is on the card but its term sits in a collapsed disclaimer the capture does not spell out, so the months are left unstated. '30-day, money-back guarantee' is on the card.

Web Hosting Deluxe

“Web Hosting Deluxe Save 52% $16.99 $7.99 /mo For first 3-yr term”

Source: https://web.archive.org/web/20260826150032/https://www.godaddy.com/hosting/web-hosting · observed 2026-08-26 · confidence high · Read from the same two archive captures as Economy. Regular price $16.99 on the card. A January 2026 third-party report gave $15.99; we never observed that figure on the page ourselves, so it is superseded rather than logged as a price increase. 'Most popular' label is not on the captured page; the plan is listed as the middle of three.

Cheaper over the same 36 months

13 of the 25 hosts I can price come in under GoDaddy's $215.64 over 36 months. The three cheapest:

  1. ChemiCloud Starter $53.64 saving $162.00
  2. AccuWeb Hosting Budget (Best Cheap Web Hosting) $71.64 saving $144.00
  3. HostArmada Start Dock $71.64 saving $144.00

The rule is arithmetic and nothing else: a host appears here only if it publishes a renewal price and a full 36-month total can be computed from prices actually observed, and the order is that total, cheapest first. Hosts whose intro term is not published cannot be priced and are left out rather than guessed at. None of these pay me anything. Switching costs an afternoon; the week before a renewal is when to do it.
